Did you know that earlier your little one starts to see a dentist, the higher the chances are for healthy smiles into adulthood? We, at Bitty Bites Pediatric Dentistry, typically begin seeing our tiny patients within six months of their first teeth coming in, and before their first birthdays. (As recommended by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatricians). If your child has teeth, even one or two, they can develop cavities. We can help make sure those little chompers stay healthy and sound!

Baby Teeth Matter

Even though your baby's teeth will eventually fall out, it's important to keep them healthy. They help with speech development and chewing, which ensures proper nutrition. Baby teeth also maintain the space needed by the permanent teeth when they are ready to come in. Prematurely losing a baby tooth can increase the likelihood of needing orthodontic treatments down the road. Early dental care helps keep your baby's tiny teeth and gums in tip-top shape and lays the groundwork for a lifetime of healthy smiles.

What Happens During your Baby's Visit?

Dr. North will take all the time needed to make sure your little one is happy and comfortable. She will evaluate your child's teeth, gums, and bite and may recommend a dental cleaning if needed. During your visit, Dr. North will talk to you about caring for your child's teeth and will discuss teething and all the milestones your child will experience.

We recommend that you follow up with dental exams every six months to allow us to monitor your baby's development and to provide preventive treatments as necessary. Our goal is to keep dental disease at bay and to ensure your child's smile stays bright and healthy.
